A number of smartphones have been released in 2013 that includes more advanced features than seen in 2012.
While the top technology firms such as Sony, Google, HTC and others revealed their smartphones in the market to win the battle against each other, firms like Samsung and LG showcased the new technology which, untill now, was only seen in movies.
Where Samsung introduced its smartwatch along with the curved screen Galaxy Round smartphone, LG on the other hand, revealed its first flexible screen smartphone in the market.

LG G2
LG released its G2 handset after successfully teaming up with Google for its Nexus 4 device. The smartphone is the first to sport no buttons in the front or at the sides. What makes the LG smartphone different is its smooth operation on a 5.2in IPS display and the buttons placed at the back panel of the smartphone besides the camera.
The handset also boasts its 2.26GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and the latest Adreno 330 GPU for graphics. The G2's 13 megapixel camera is also one of the key features as it comes with an Optical Image Stabilization technology for a better shooting experience.
Google Nexus 5
Google's Nexus 5 handset has been one of the most talked about smartphones during the whole year. This time Google, along with LG, shoved off some bulk as compared to Nexus 4 and has made the smartphone lighter with a 5in Full HD IPS large screen and small bezels.
The smartphone, no doubt runs on the latest, Snapdragon 800 processor with Adreno 330 GPU. Apple iPhone 5S
Apple's iPhone 5S was earlier rumoured to be the iPhone 6, however the firm surprised the fans by introducing 5S and 5C, which is the cheaper iPhone for budget customers. Apple iPhone 5S's key feature was its 64 bit A7 processor, which has not yet arrived in any other handset and the much popular fingerprint sensor technology. The A7 processor also made the handset's iOS 7 run buttery smooth.
The design of the handset is also attractive with shiny metal coating, specially the golden version. The handset sports a good 8 megapixel camera with a slo-mo video feature where the handset shoots at 720p resolution and doubles the frame rate to 120fps.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3
Samsung has also contributed to the Phablet market in 2013 by introducing its much popular Galaxy Note 3 device. The handset was revealed alongside the Galaxy Gear smartwatch. The slim Phablet includes some of the highest under-the-hood specifications as compared to others.
The handset includes a Snapdragon quad-core 2.3GHz Krait 400 processor with 3GB RAM and the latest Adreno 330 GPU. Along with the 32GB/64GB i-built memory storage, Note 3 also includes an additional card slot for memory expansion.
The 5.7in Super AMOLED Full HD display of the device with 16M colours and a 24 bit colour depth makes the screen look stunning and superior. The handset also includes a 13 megapixel rear shooter with LED Flash and zero shutter lag.
